The Department of Education has created a new tool to help parents track their children’s  grades, attendance records, and the contact information on file at the school. Parents or guardians will be able to sign up for a NYC Schools account using their personal email addresses, create their own passwords, and access information about all their children  through one account. The account will be accessible and easy to use across digital devises – smart phones, tablets, computers etc.

LOOK OUT FOR A LETTER COMING TO YOUR HOME with a unique NYC Schools Account Creation Code for each child. You will need this code and your child’s 9-digit student ID number (you can find this on their report card) to create an NYC Schools account or to add additional children to your existing account. Once you have this information, go to https://mystudent.nyc/ to set up your account.

You can also register for an account at your child’s school. You’ll need to bring:

  • A valid photo ID: Passport, Driver’s license, State ID, or permit; IDNYC
  • Your child’s 9-digit NYC student ID number (you can find this on your child’s academic records, including a report card). If you do not have your child’s ID number, ask your school.
  • A valid email address.
