ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THIS SPRING:
At most school events where parents are invited, the PTA will have volunteers at a table to help spread the word about the workings of the PTA, sell spiritwear, and any other fundraising or outreach activities currently on going. In addition, we sometimes provide snacks and beverages that will need to be purchased, set up, and cleaned up. Finally, we help, as needed, the SLT with their community building activities and fundraising. We are always looking for parents to volunteer to help at these events – the more the merrier! We can never have too many parent volunteers!
Be an involved parent!
Public schools depend on parents to help fill in the gaps within the woefully lacking and ever shrinking school budgets. Money helps of course but often just a few hours of your time can work wonders to enrich the academic lives of our students as well as helping our parent community stay connected and informed. Consider one of the following opportunities to get involved in your son or daughter’s education:
Join the FUNdraising Committee
Obviously this committee works to raise money for our school, but it is also plays an important role building our community. If you can help out, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and put “fundraising” in the subject line.
Come to an Executive Board Meeting
At this meeting PTA officers discuss what’s going on at school and come up with the agenda for the General Membership PTA Meeting. If you have a concern or an idea that could help make the school better, check out our meeting schedule and come to the EB meeting.
Join the Communications Committee
Anyone interested in keeping the FMHS community informed, please contact us at email@example.com, and put “Communications Committee” in the subject line.
Join the Community Service Committee
Community service is not only encouraged at FMHS, it is a requirement. If you can help students find out about and connect with community service programs, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meetings are at FMHS – specific room TBD.
